Event Place Paarl, Drakenstein. | *** THE 'BIRTHPLACE' FIELD IS NOT EVIDENCE OF A BIRTHPLACE AND MUST NOT BE READ AS ONE. *** It repeats the EVENT PLACE word for word, which is what a genealogical index does when the register states no dwelling. 5 third rule, written three days ago from this family's own baptisms: a baptism names a CHURCH, not a home. What this record establishes is that the child was baptised at PAARL. | WHAT IT DOES ESTABLISH, and it is a great deal: an exact BIRTH DATE of 12 January 1790, and both PARENTS by name - which turns a thin row into the join described on PER-000209. Note the ten months between birth and baptism, which is long and is itself a fact worth explaining. | 'CALES' is the index's reading of CALITZ; the model holds Anna Magdalena Calitz (PER-000338, 1771-1836), who married Daniel Jacobus Strydom on 30 November 1788 (UNI-000065). 5a-i: FamilySearch settles the spelling of a PERSON, the register settles the fact.
