WASSERMAN one fourth', 'Share of the WIDOW OF C. J. M. ROUSSEAU one half'. Neighbours drawn: the farm Rondeheuvel [Roodeheuvel], Jagers Rivier, Roode Krantz, the Kamnassie Mountains, and Vacant Government Land. | *** AND A LATER SURVEYOR CALLS PETERSEN'S WORK WORTHLESS, IN WRITING ON THE SHEET. *** 'I have carefully resurveyed this quitrent and find this Diagram by Petersen to be TOTALLY ERRONEOUS, the landmarks exist as shown by me by dotted lines, the extent between which I find to be 5010 morgen 511 square roods, instead of the quantity stated by Petersen - which has been divided by me according to a deed of agreement dated June 8th 1857.' The farm was thus 70 per cent larger than the 1832 figure. A second marginal note reads 'Kamnassie Mountains - NO MOUNTAINS HERE'. TREAT PETERSEN'S 1832 EXTENTS AND POSSIBLY HIS BEARINGS AS SUSPECT ACROSS THIS WHOLE SERIES, on the word of the man who went back over them.
