TRANSCRIBED AS READ, from a difficult hand: 'The above Diagram A - E represents the Loanplace WILGERIVIER of 2985 MORGEN OF LAND Situated in the FIELDCORNETCY OF BOV[EN] OLEPHANTS RIVIER - DISTRICT OF GEORGE, Leasholders [?]Isaac Jacobus Wagenaar, Michiel [?]Coetserinck and [?]Ivan Hendrik... Extending N. to the BLACK MOUNTAIN distance about 600 [roods], East[ward] to the Place ROOIFONTEYN distance 600 roods, S.S.[?W] to the place WILGEHOUTE RIVIER, and W[est] to the place BUFFELS KLI[P] distance 1400 roods. Surveyed by me, [?]J. H. G. Pelser, Sworn Surveyor.' A later note: 'N.B. [?]Hannibal here sold his share since the survey to [?]C. J. Snelbraam and J. J. Wagenaar.' | *** THE FACE DRAWS THE OLIFANTS ACROSS THE TOP OF THE FARM AND LABELS IT 'OLEPHANTS R. - DRY IN SUMMER'. *** Along the foot: 'Loanplace Wilgehoutz rivier, leased by BOKKER & VAN TONDER'. Van Tonder is the surname of Ockert Almero's own mother, Susanna Catharina van Tonder; nothing here identifies the man and the name is common in this country. [TO VERIFY] | *** THE DISTRICT MOVED AND THE GROUND DID NOT, WHICH IS THE POINT FOR LEAD-0220. *** In 1832 this farm is in the FIELDCORNETCY OF BOVEN OLEPHANTS RIVIER, DISTRICT OF GEORGE. In 1894 the same ground is in the F.C. of BUFFELS KLIP, DIVISION OF UNIONDALE. George was cut out of SWELLENDAM on 23 April 1811 (S044), SO BEFORE 1811 THE BOVEN OLIFANTS RIVIER FIELD-CORNETCY WAS SWELLENDAM. That is an inference from two dated documents and not a third document, and it is stated as one.
