The citation as it was given
THE FILENAME HINT SAYS FARM 12 AND THE SHEET SAYS FARM 112. Frans's hint on the file was "12 1"; the title block reads "Gedeelte 1 ... van die plaas Minnies Kraal Nr 112, PRINCE ALBERT", the figure caption reads "Gedeelte 1 van die plaas MINNIES KRAAL", and the corner mark reads 112/1. The sheet governs. 8 says the hint is Frans's addition and not a replacement for the archive's own reference, and this is the first time the two have disagreed. It matters more than usual here because the cadastre gives BOTH farm 12 and farm 112 the name MINNIES KRAAL - see LEAD-0147. Stamped OFFICE COPY. Die figuur ABCD stel voor 28.8422 morge. Skaal 1:10 000, stelsel Lo 23, Kaapse voet. Opgemeet Augustus-September 1955 deur S.J. Marschalk [?] (the surname is a probable reading), Landmeter; goedgekeur 16-1-1956. NEIGHBOURS ON THE FACE: "Restant van die plaas RIETKUIL" (N), "ASCHKOP" (W), "Gedeelte 2" (E), "Gedeelte 8" (SW). Aschkop is Klipgat No. 114 Portion 10, which this batch also documents. BEACONS: AC 1/2 ysterpaal in klipstapel; BD ysterhoekpaal in klipstapel met twee aanduidingspenne 15' van baken. ADMIN: geheg aan T/A No 2302/1956; oorspronklike kaart No. 8731/1955 geheg aan T/A 1956-2300; Leer No. S/169/2[?], M.S. No. E.2090/55, BL-2 en BL-48.
Kept verbatim. This project contradicts published genealogies and corrects a family's own oral tradition, so every claim has to be checkable by someone who was not in the room.
