HER PARENTS ARE THE OPEN QUESTION AND THERE IS NOW A NAMED CANDIDATE COUPLE: JAN CRAFFORT 1741-1827 (LHVZ-3JJ) and CATHARINA OOSTHUIZEN b.1751 (PER-000236, G9C9-MDD), who head a household on folio 2 of the 1770 Swellendam roll with one daughter already born. A birth about 1771 is the next child. If it holds, this woman is a granddaughter of Jacobus OosthuizenL (PER-000230) and Dina Carolina BritzM, and her marriage to Louis Almoro Pisani about 1790 puts the ALMERO name inside the family rather than beside it. Dina Johanna CraffordH (PER-000271, b. about 1771, d. 1846) married LOUIS ALMORO PISANI about 1790, and Pisani is the man the name ALMERO comes into this family from. The 1770 Swellendam opgaafrol, folio 2 line 18, has JAN CRAFFORT married to CATHARINA OOSTHUIJSEN, with one daughter under sixteen. Is Dina Johanna a later child of that couple?
What would settle it The baptism entry naming her parents. Failing that, an estate or death notice for either Crafford naming their children.
