[8 Aug 2026] THE TWO ROWS ARE IN DIFFERENT UNITS, AND EACH IS RIGHT IN ITS OWN. Portion 1 was cut in 1958, before metrication, and 2,891.9588 is MORGEN: x 0.856532 = 2,477.1 ha against the cadastre's 2,490.5, which is 0.54% apart. Portion 2 was cut in 1994, after it, and 5,510,911 is HECTARES with a comma decimal: the cadastre says 5,509.4, which is 0.03% apart. Read both as morgen, or both as hectares, and one of them is out by 17%. This is the same trap that put a fictional 478.7 ha into Middelwater's notes (PAR-000001), met here as an explicit unit change INSIDE ONE TABLE.
[8 Aug 2026] AND THE WHOLE FARM RECONCILES. The 1868 grant is 15,167 morgen 520 roods = 12,991.8 ha. Less Portion 1 (2,477.1 ha) and Portion 2 (5,510.9 ha) leaves 5,003.8 ha; the cadastre gives the Remainder as 4,950.6, 1.07% apart. Every piece of farm 12 is now accounted for from its own documents: PAR-000158, PAR-000159, PAR-000160.
[8 Aug 2026] DATED AND RELEASED. survey_edtf carries the FRONT's survey date, 1864-09, and title_edtf the NEWEST endorsement on the sheet, 1994, which is the handling used for every other verso here (DOC-0118, DOC-0130, DOC-0134, DOC-0161, DOC-0199). That withholds the image on date; publish_ok=yes then releases it, because the sheet has been read and NAMES NOBODY - survey records, diagram numbers, portion numbers, areas, transfer numbers and one initial. 11: the gate is about people, and a deduction table is about ground.
The research behind this page, kept separate from it: dated working notes, open questions, and what is not yet settled.
