This is PER-001959, FamilySearch LLCH-WK5, already in this model with those years and no place. Petronella Danielina Magdalena Kleu, b. 6 JUN 1899 ABERDEEN. Edwin Daniel Kleu, 16 Jun 1887 Aberdeen - 9 Feb 1959 Port Elizabeth. Maria Fouche Kleu, 5 Aug 1909 Aberdeen - 29 Apr 1913 Aberdeen, daughter of his son Sebastiaan Johannes b.1866 (PER-001963, G828-5Z5) and Germina Philipina Fouche. *** AND IT ANSWERS THE SURNAME'S ORIGIN, WHICH NO SOURCE THIS PROJECT COULD REACH HAD ANSWERED. *** PIETER EGBERTUS KLEU, abt 1776, born 'KEULEN OR ELSAS, GERMANY', died 19 April 1835 at GEORGE; his father ANTON SEBASTIAAN KLEW, abt 1733, and mother MARIA MARGARETHA ELISABETH PAULI. Pieter Egbertus married MARGARETHA CORNELIA BOTHA, b. 6 April 1783 at the Cape. So the family is GERMAN, from Cologne or Alsace, landing in the George district, and the spellings Kleu, Klue and Klew are one name. [TO VERIFY] The place trail is George and Georgestad in the early 1800s, then UNIONDALE and Buffelsklip from the 1860s, then Aberdeen, Willowmore, Uitenhage, Graaff-Reinet and Oudtshoorn. Note DOORNRIVIER, GEORGE DISTRICT as the birthplace of Pieternella Danelina Magdalena Smit in 1814 - a Kleu family place name, and not necessarily the Doornrivier in the Langkloof where WMBR 1644 puts a Klue killed in 1901. *** LAYER C AND IT MUST STAY THERE. *** WikiTree is a compiled collaborative tree, the same class of evidence as the FamilySearch descendancies of 2 September, and it has been wrong about Kleus before: the profiles cite FamilySearch images for baptisms and marriages but not for most death places. Every place taken from it is a lead, not a fact. What makes the Aberdeen line worth acting on is not its authority but that it is CHECKABLE - the Aberdeen death and baptism registers will say.
