Prins Albert / Magdalena Maria van Tonder (geb. OOSTHUIZEN), 61, weduwee, woonplaats Prins Albert. / Na geboden. Geboorteland: Suid-Afrika.' Solemnised by [?A.B. Wessels], Ned. Geref. Kerk; signed F S Botma and M M van Tonder; witnesses H. W. BOTHMA and G. M. VAN TONDER. Pencil 3466 [?]. | HIS FIFTH KNOWN MARRIAGE, at seventy, IN HIS OWN HOUSE rather than in the kerk - which is what an old man's wedding looked like when the district church was a day away. | She is a VAN TONDER BY MARRIAGE AND AN OOSTHUIZEN BY BIRTH (PER-001930), so this late marriage ties the Botma household to both of the surnames this project is built on. | WEDUWENAAR IN 1930 MEANS ALETTA MAGDALENA DE KOKER (PER-001928) WAS DEAD BEFORE 21 JULY 1930. | The register itself wavers over the surname - the clerk writes Botma, strikes it, and writes it again - which is the Botma/Bothma question visible on one line of one page.
