ENTRY 959, transcribed as read: '29 Mei 1848 / Rudolf Cornelis Jacobus Bezuidenhout, jongman / Johanna Jacomyna Suzanna Venter, jongedochter / Boer / [?Middenveld], Ditto / toestemming: Joannes Petrus Bezuidenhout; PETRUS JACOBUS VENTER, VADER'. Married by Thomas Reid, leeraar der Nederduitsche Hervormde Kerk; witnesses G.N. v.d.Berg, [?J.L.] van der Merwe. *** THE BRIDE IS PER-000879 (G4CS-4G3), b 19 Aug 1830, seventeen, and her FATHER PETRUS JACOBUS VENTER CONSENTS IN PERSON ON 29 MAY 1848 - NINETEEN MONTHS AFTER THE DEATH DATE THIS MODEL CARRIED FOR HIM (1846-10-05). The death date is disproven by the register and has been removed from PER-000589. *** This is also independent of the FS reasoning that cited an '11 Sep 1848' consent (a further marriage, record not yet seen). ENTRY 958, same day, recorded not asserted: 'Jan Lewis Venter, weduwenaar / Cornelia Aletta Venter, jongedochter / [?Middenveld], Ditto / toestemming: Jan Carel Marthinus Venter [?vader]' - a widowed Jan Lewis Venter on the same ground; whether he is PER-000870 (L5L3-776, b 1813, son of Petrus Jacobus) is NOT settled here, name alone being insufficient, and his row carries no first wife to test against.
