A roll of THIS format covering the Olifants ward would say so in words - the place, that no title was obtained, where it was situated, and how many hours from the drostdy. Its places sit 'Between Swartberg & Fish River', at the [?Kougaars] River and at Swartewaterberg, which is eastern ground - Uitenhage or Graaff-Reinet rather than Beaufort. The households are van Dyk, Grobbelaar, Geyer, Els, Hartzberg, van Aardt, de Lange, Nel, Bezuydenhout, Vivier, van der Meulen and Potgieter, and the page totals 20 men and 18 women. Two surnames this project watches appear among the wives: SUSARA JACOMINA VAN TONDERS and ELSJE VAN DER MERWE.
