*** A NEGATIVE, AND IT IS THE THIRD LEG OF THE ARGUMENT THAT CLOSED LEAD-0260. *** [FAMILY] Interesting - no oosthuizen in the 1804 drakenstein opgaafrol. | WHY IT MATTERS. Citrusdal and the Boland Olifants sat in the Drakenstein sphere and then in the Tulbagh district from 1804, never in Swellendam's. If this family had been living on that river, a Drakenstein roll of 1804 is where they would be counted. They are not in it. | IT AGREES WITH THIS PROJECT'S OWN DATA FIFTY YEARS EARLIER: the 1751 DRAKENSTEIN roll (SRC-487) holds 402 households and NOT ONE Oosthuizen, while the Swellendam rolls of 1751, 1760 and 1770 hold three, five and nine. This was in the repo unnoticed until the question was put to it. | AND IT AGREES WITH THE POSITIVE EVIDENCE: SRC-497 counts the household in the 1805 SWELLENDAM roll at entry 784, the year after this absence. Absent from Drakenstein in 1804, present at Swellendam in 1805. | SAID PROPERLY, PER 10: this is one roll of one year and an absence proves less than a presence. What carries the argument is the 1805 Swellendam entry; this removes the obvious objection to it.
