A further 'Cabo' line begins below and is cut off. | *** WHAT THIS DOES TO FIX-0011, WHICH WAS RAISED THE SAME DAY. *** That correction cites three documents putting Ockert Brits alive after his recorded death of 11 Nov 1737: the 1751 Drakenstein roll, an 11 May 1755 baptism, and the 1760 Swellendam roll. THE FIRST TWO STAND. THE THIRD CANNOT, if this leaf is what it appears to be: a widow of his at Swellendam in 1759 or 1760 puts him dead before the 1760 roll was sworn, so the OCKERT BRITS heading a household at Swellendam folio 6 line 12 in 1760 is somebody else - almost certainly a son of the same name, which is one of the two explanations LEAD-0236 had already offered and could not choose between. | THE WIDOW IS VERY LIKELY CATHARINA BASTIJAANS PYL (PER-000768), his wife on the 1751 roll and the mother of Dina Carolina Britz. The leaf does not give her first name. [TO VERIFY] | *** WHAT IS NOT ESTABLISHED, AND 5a-ii IS THE REASON. *** The provenance is Frans's description and has not been checked against a title page, a film or a folio number: no repository, no volume, no image number arrived with the screenshot. AND THE FOUR SWELLENDAM ENTRIES AT THE FOOT CARRY NO DATE, unlike every other line on the leaf, so they may be a block continuing onto the next leaf or the opening of the following year. THE ROBUST READING DOES NOT DEPEND ON WHICH: 'de wed:' describes her either way, and the year on the leaf is 1759. | WHAT WOULD SETTLE IT: the next leaf, and the register's title page.
