Research notes

[7 Aug 2026, from the inbox: SG diagrams for Doorn Kraal No. 116] GRANTEE OF DOORN KRAAL LOT B ON QUITRENT, 15 APRIL 1841 - the recital on SG diagram 2103/1903 reads 'Granted on Quitrent to Hendrik Joh van Eck (Joh son) on the 15th April 1841'. The parenthetical is the diagram distinguishing him from another Hendrik van Eck by naming his father Johannes, which is the same job the patronymic does in the registers. He is here under the people-related-to-the-land rule: a grantee named in the farm papers. NOT MATCHED to any van Eck already in this model - there are six, and matching on a surname and a date would be exactly what 9 forbids. [DIAGRAM]

[7 Aug 2026] FLOURUIT 1841, set from the document rather than guessed: the diagram's own recital has him taking a quitrent grant on 15 April 1841, so he was an adult that year. 4 route 3 - an explicit floruit before 1936 - and it is exactly the case the column exists for.
