Sydney Cowper publishes a sixpenny guide with a map of the claims
1891 · local · Prince Albert
Ten pages, "The Prince Albert Goldfields with Map". The map is the only surviving picture of how the field was actually pegged: the large claims of Danie du Plessis's Early Bird Syndicate beside small ones called Watson's Peg, Eyre's Shaft and Saunders's Shaft, and workings at Main Creek and One Speck Creek. Gillet's rival book came out the same year from the same publisher.
Who is on record here
Everyone the record names at this occasion. Who stood together is the clearest surviving evidence of which families were close to which, if you know of others who were here, this is the page they belong on.
