J. Tulleken measures T.G. Hugo's loan-place at 465 morgen 12 square roods on the order of the Commissie van Inspectie, in D.T. Theron G.S.'s veldkornetskap. The sheet names five families around it - Theron, Winterbach, de Bruin, Grobbelaar - and gives the Karoo's own Vrolykheid a namesake 400 km west.
