Research notes
Two components, both of them ground this project already tracks: (1) GEDEELTE 4 VAN DIE PLAAS MODDERDRIFT NR. 106, Kaart 1103/2009 - our PAR-000125; (2) GEDEELTE 3 VAN DIE PLAAS RHEMHOOGTE NR. 125, Kaart 2498/2016, T/A 1937-13525 - our PAR-000069.
SHEET 2 (the map) names the neighbours, and they put farm 239 squarely among farms this project follows: DIE PLAAS ZEEKOEGAT NR. 22, DIE PLAAS NR. 222, DIE PLAAS JANSENSKRAAL NR. 104, GEDEELTE 1 VAN MODDERDRIFT NR. 106, GEDEELTE 5 and 7 VAN DIE PLAAS NR. 114 (Klipgat), GEDEELTE 1 VAN RONDABLE NR. 124, and GEDEELTE 5 and GEDEELTE 8 VAN RHEMHOOGTE NR. 125. Trig Nr. 343 and Nr. 93. A SLIP ON THE SHEET ITSELF, recorded rather than corrected: one label reads "GEDEELTE 3 VAN DIE PLAAS JANSENSKRAAL NR. 106". Jansenskraal is 104 and 106 is Modderdrift, so the surveyor has crossed the two numbers. Every other reference on both sheets is consistent.
THE VERSO carries one deduction: survey SR1347/2016, kaart 2497/2016, GEDEELTE 1, 2821,9159 ha, deed 27099/17. So farm 239 was consolidated in 2016 and had a portion cut off it almost immediately, leaving a remainder of 4279,3074 ha. Note how close that deed number is to the CCT 27098/2017 on which the farm itself was registered - the consolidation and the first subdivision went through together.
[5 Aug 2026] This row used to list 3 filenames under one id, which made every sheet after the first unreachable - see 8. The others (11401101 farm 239.jpg, 11401102 farm 239.jpg) were re-pulled and now have their own rows: DOC-0245, DOC-0246. LEAD-0095 closed.
