No inference is needed and none is possible in the wrong direction: the clerk wrote the home down, and it is not the church. A baptism names a church, not a home - and here the same page proves it. | IT ALSO CORROBORATES SRC-522 FROM A DIFFERENT ARCHIVE. The 1811 George opgaafrol enrolled this household in the brand-new George district; a Stellenbosch clerk independently wrote GEORGE DROSTDY against them in late 1812. Two record types, two repositories, one answer. | THE CHILD IS ALREADY HERE: PER-000212, Daniel Johannes Oosthuizen, born 1811-11-17 - the register's date to the day - died 1892-11-09, FamilySearch LZFG-RJV. Born 17 November 1811 and baptised 27 November 1812: A FULL YEAR, which is what a 331 km journey costs. | THE WITNESS IS HIS UNCLE. Cornelis Andries Oosthuizen (PER-000015, b. 14 June 1792) is a son of Ockert Jacobus Oosthuizen of Modderfonteyn and therefore the father's younger brother, aged twenty. Anna Magdalena Petronella Strydom is a Strydom kinswoman of the mother and is NOT in this model; she is recorded here and gets no person row, because 6's witness rule admits only occasions IN THIS DISTRICT and Stellenbosch is not. The third name does not resolve: '[?Henneke]'. | AND THEY WERE NOT ALONE. Entry No 56 on the same opening ALSO reads '/ George Drostdy /' - Pieter Willem Adriaan, born 17 Dec 1811, baptised 29 Nov 1812, father Hendrik Johannes Nel, mother Machteld Bekker, witness ANDRIES VAN TONDER. So two George-district households brought year-old children to Stellenbosch within two days of each other. That looks like a party travelling together rather than two coincidences, and it is the shape of evidence this project's migration layer has least of. [TO VERIFY] as a reading of intent; the two entries themselves are plain. | Note also that the mother was herself baptised at PAARL in 1790 (SRC-543), 23 km from Stellenbosch. Whether that is why the family came west is exactly the question of LEAD-0271 and is not answered here.
