Navorsingsnotas

[SRC-088] Baptism witness at Prince Albert, 10 Feb 1878 - a Hitge, so the mother's side. CARRIES THE NAME ROY, which recurs much later in Roy Don OosthuizenM (1923-1999). English given names - George, Joseph, Roy - inside an Afrikaans farming family, as with Charles Frederick WRIGHT Oosthuizen (PER-000164). Where the English comes in is an open question.

[31 Jul 2026] MERGED PER-000692 into this row. PROVEN DUPLICATE, resolved on the FamilySearch id. Both rows carry L1MB-VB8; an FS id names one person, so these are one person recorded twice. Created by the 31 Jul 2026 one-degree tree pull, which matched on tree id alone - and 255 model people carry no tree id, so any of them one hop from a tree-linked person was added again. Survivor is the pre-existing row; it carries the prose, sources and land links. Moved across: birth_edtf=1821-11-25; death_edtf=1899-06-14; tree id=. DISAGREEMENTS, kept rather than resolved - the FamilySearch id settles these in one click: display_name: kept 'George Joseph Roy HitgeH', PER-000692 said 'George Joseph Roye Hitge'.

[5 Aug 2026, SRC-290/289] HE WAS LIVING ON VONDELING IN 1892. His sister's death notice (SRC-290) says she died 'at the residence of her brother, George Joseph Roy HitgeH, at Vondeling, div. Willowmore'. That is PAR-000127, Vondeling No. 139 - a farm this model had only ever seen as a boundary name on the Haggas and Uitnood diagrams. This is the first person the record places ON it, and he is a Hitge, brother-in-law of Gerolm Marincowitz.

These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
