[SRC-101, SRC-102] Two candidate baptisms for the stamvader survive - Amsterdam, father Johannes Oosthuijsz and mother Catrina Bouwmans; and Leiden on this day, father Johannes Oosthuysen and mother Antonette de Rede. Both were tested against the names he gave his own nine children, using a pattern this family is shown to follow strictly. Both fail: each would require an eldest son named Johannes, and his eldest son was GERHARDUS. The names he actually used predict parents called GERHARDUS and BARBARA - and those are Rhineland names, which is where his will says he came from. Dated to the Leiden record because the Amsterdam one carries no visible date. | [1 Aug 2026] SCOPE CHANGED to 'disputed' and this event is now OFF THE TIMELINE: "parentage of the first oosthuizen is not clear. leave it out of timeline." He is right, and the reason is in this row's own text: the date 31 March 1675 is the LEIDEN baptism - one of the two candidates this event exists to DISPROVE - chosen only because the Amsterdam record carries no visible date. So the chronology was opening, at its very first line, on a date belonging to a claim we reject. The event is kept in full because the test is worth having on the record; it simply is not a thing that happened in this family's history, and it still appears on the pages of PER-000319 and PER-000320, which is where it is useful.
