Found while searching for an estate for PER-001823 that does not exist. Nine children are named: Maria van Staden and Martinus van Staden of a former marriage, then 'kinderen van 't laaste bed' - Johannes Jansz oud 21, Elsje oud 17, CICILIA OUD 14, Willem oud 12, Nicolaas oud 9, Hendrik oud 6 and Sophia Jansz van Rensburg oud 4. Cicilia at fourteen in November 1729 is born about 1715, which is PER-002098 and agrees with FamilySearch. SO HER MOTHER WAS HERSELF A VAN DER MERWE - Aletta - and the van der Merwe/van Rensburg tie runs a generation deeper than the marriage. THE GROUND: 'Drie stuckx opstallen ofte leningplaatsen, waarvan twee gelegen OVER 'T RODESANT en een aan de GROTE BERGREVIER', with the household goods inventoried on the Berg River place. Roodezand is Tulbagh - and PER-001657 married his second wife at Tulbagh in 1759 and died there in 1778. That is where his mother's people held ground. NOT DRAWN AS FARMS: three unnamed loan places on a 1729 inventory cannot be matched to a cadastre and must not be guessed at. [TO VERIFY] on the citation per 5a-ii.
