THIS IS THE REGISTER PREDICTED TWO HOURS EARLIER - LEAD-0257 and SRC-514 both name item 3 of this same film as the volume that should hold the children born 1798 to 1807, and it does. | THE ENTRY: 'een kind ged[oopt] zynde een dogter gebooren den 16 Novemb: 1803 | Vader OCKKERT OOSTHUIJZEN | Moeder SUSANNA CATHARINA VAN TONDER | Getuijgen OCKKERT ALMORO OOSTHUIJZEN, PHILIP MARTHINUS [?VAN KOLDER], SUSANNA CATHARINA CRONJE | Zynde 't kind gen[aamd]: SARA MARIA'. | *** THE CHILD IS SARA MARIA, AND FAMILYSEARCH HAS HER AS SUSANNA MARIA. *** PER-000149, FS L6M6-WDW. L6M6-WDW'. This is not spelling drift of the kind 5a-i hands to FamilySearch - Sara and Susanna are different names - so the register governs and the model is changed. FIX-0014. | BIRTH DATE NOW EXACT: 16 November 1803, where the row carried a bare 1803. The BAPTISM date is not readable: the margin number 29 is an entry number, and no month band is visible in the image supplied. Frans dates it 1804, which fits a birth of 16 November 1803. [TO VERIFY] | *** AND THE GODFATHER IS THE ROOT ANCESTOR, AGED SEVENTEEN. *** 'Ockkert Almoro Oosthuijzen' is PER-000001, standing to his baby sister. It is the earliest dated appearance of him anywhere in this project after his own baptism of 11 May 1786, and it puts him at Swellendam. | SWELLENDAM AGAIN, WHICH IS THE POINT. With SRC-514 this is the household at the Swellendam font in 1803/04 and again in 1808, either side of the 1807 marriage. This entry carries no 'woonende aan' clause - only the 1807-1817 volume does - so it names the church and not the ground. | Two readings are marked: the second witness's surname, written something like 'van Kolder', and whether the first word of the third witness is Susanna or Susana. Neither is cited. | *** [same day] THE INVENTORY ALREADY SAID SARA MARIA. *** SRC-092, the 1809 estate, names heir no. 10 as 'Sara Maria Oosthuizen, oud 6 jaren', and PER-000295 has carried that reading with an explicit [TO VERIFY] against FamilySearch since 29 July. This register settles it. Two originals, one baptism and one estate, against one compiled index.
