Johanna, gehuwd met Johannes Abraham van Wyk. 8. Francois Jacobus Vandermerwe, meerderjarig. 9. Elizabeth Susanna, gehuwd met Izaak Jacobus Vandermerwe." HER PARENTS ARE THE LOKENBURG COUPLE, AND THAT ANSWERS A QUESTION THIS PROJECT HAS CARRIED SINCE THE FARM WAS FIRST ENTERED. The 1820 diagram of Lokenburg says the loan place was "door de Wede. JACOBUS ADN. LOUW in Erfpacht verzocht", and MOOC8/75.66 (SRC-368) is the inventory of MARIA ELISABETH LOUW, widow of Jacobus Adriaan Louw, who died AT LOKENBURG on 2 August 1823. This notice names Anna Jacoba's parents as Jacobus Adriaan Louw and Maria Catharina Elizabeth Louw. SHE IS THE LOKENBURG WIDOW'S DAUGHTER. Her husband Schalk Willem van der Merwe DIED ON LOKENBURG in 1866 and she died there twenty-one months later. THE FAMILY CAME TO THAT FARM THROUGH HER. Story S035 says of the widows on these farms that "neither connection is established, and both are worth testing rather than assuming". The Louw half is now established and the story needs correcting. The middle name differs - the inventory says Maria Elisabeth and this notice says Maria Catharina Elizabeth - which is the ordinary drift of a name written twice forty-five years apart, not a second woman. AND ONE CHILD CONTRADICTS SRC-388. Entry 3 is "MARIA, gehuwd met IZAAK HEREMIAS VISAGIE" - a daughter of Schalk Willem and Anna Jacoba. But SRC-388 has Izaak Heremias Visagie married to JOHANNA SOPHIA VAN DER MERWE, a daughter of CAREL AARON, and SRC-405 has that couple standing together at a font in 1835. The likeliest reading is TWO MEN OF THE NAME, father and son, in a family that reuses given names as hard as this one does - the son marrying his father's wife's great-niece. It is NOT resolved here and it matters, because the whole Visagie finding of SRC-388 hangs on which Izaak Heremias is which. LEAD-0170. HER DEATH YEAR MOVES: this model held 1860 and the notice says 3 March 1868, at Lokenburg, as a widow. Age circa 75 gives a birth about 1793, which is what the model holds and what her baptism of 24 September 1793 confirms. THE TITLE OF THIS ROW USES HER MAIDEN NAME ON PURPOSE. The form heads her "Anna Jacoba Vandermerwe, geboren Louw", and that married form is also the name of a LIVING person in this model, whom the vernoemingspatroon gave it a century later. Her id is deliberately not written here: a suppressed person's id in published prose is itself a leak, which is what the build said on the second attempt. The leak test stopped the build on it, correctly. The verbatim heading is kept in the transcription above, where it is evidence; the title reads Louw, where it is a label.

Woordeliks gehou. Hierdie projek weerspreek gepubliseerde genealogieë en stel 'n familie se eie mondelinge oorlewering reg, so elke bewering moet nagegaan kan word deur iemand wat nie in die vertrek was nie.
