[16 Sep 2026] Added as the holder of DE MODDER FONTEYN after the Terblanses (PAR-000065), under the people-related-to-the-land rule. [TREE / FS GDLF-CQW] Born 30 June 1785 (the tree gives Stellenbosch), christened 5 November 1786 (the tree gives Cape Town), died 5 October 1861; alias 'Oupa Swartkoppies'; married Cornelia Jacoba Susanna Kruger, thirteen children including Anna Catharina (b. 16 Dec 1808, Swellendam; married Jan Barkhuysen of Roode Klip) and Daniel Elardus (1815-1875, died Doornkloof, Pretoria). Tree place strings are hints only. ON THE FARM: the George opgaafrolle enter 'Daniel Jac. Erasmus x Cornelia Sus. Kruger' in the Olifants ward in 1824 with 10000 vines and one unnamed erfpacht place (SRC-641, line 52); 'Daniel Jacobus ErasmusH x C.S. Krieger' on MOERAS FONTYN, 6000 vines, 1 quit rent farm, in 1825 (SRC-642, image 446 line 3, checked against the page); 'Daniel Jac. Erasmus' alone on MODDER FONTYN, 6000 vines, 1 quit rent, in 1826 (SRC-648, image 517/518 line 36, checked against the page). The wife's name agrees with the tree. A family blog citing Colonial Office papers (SRC-650) calls him 'Oupa Swartkoppies', has him farming WANHOOP near Rooiklip before he trekked north and settled on Swartkop (Centurion), where he is said to be buried. IDENTITY [TO VERIFY]: the roll entries match on name, wife and ward and the alias matches the blog, but no single document yet names this man, his dates and the farm together.

[17 Sep 2026] De Villiers' ERASMUS family (SRC-656, Deel 1) has a Daniel Jacobus baptised 15 November 1789 who married Cornelia Jacoba Susanna Kruger in July 1807. Neither the date nor the wife fits this man (b. 1785); no other Daniel Jacobus was found in the OCR [TO VERIFY].
