Navorsingsnotas
DIRECT ANCESTOR - Frans's 7x-great-grandmother. [SRC-072] The stamvader's fourth child (b4), baptised 13 Apr 1721 at Stellenbosch; married Johannes Hendrik ConradieL there 19 Jul 1737; died 21 Apr 1767 at Nieuwmunster, Tulbagh. THROUGH HER MARRIAGE SHE BECAME THE STAMMOEDER OF THE CONRADIE FAMILY IN SOUTH AFRICA. Her brother Jacobus (b6) heads the line that ends up farming Botterkraal beside Zeekoegat - so the Swanepoels of the Prince Albert district are cousins, not strangers. Thesis dates match the tree exactly.
[4 Aug 2026, SRC-259] Named in the Tulbagh book as her father's ONLY daughter: "Nieuwmunster was sold in 1747 to Johannes Conradie who married Swanepoel's only daughter Rosa, who thus became the ancestress of the Conradie family." So the farm and the family passed together, and this project's Swanepoel-Conradie link is confirmed from a published archival source rather than from the tree alone.
These are working notes, not finished prose: they carry the reasoning, the corrections and the things still marked to verify. They are kept here so the page itself can read as what is known.
