Officer of the French East India Company, then a Dutch East India Company sea captain; Equipage Master for the DEIC 1786-87 and Captain of the Port at Simonstown 1803-06. Cartographer, farmer, public commissioner, decorated freemason at Lorient and the Cape. ALSO A SLAVER - recorded plainly because it is true. Married Johanna Margaretha Nothlingh, Cape Town, 2 Feb 1777. Died 19 Graave Street, Cape Town, aged 64. [SRC-071]
