[16 Sep 2026] Every pre-1823 diagram in the division (SRC-529), fetched to find Salomon Terblans's quitrent place of 1823. None is named Modder Fontein. *** WELBEDACHT No. 131, 294/1819: *** 'een Nieuwe gemeet Stuk Erfpagt Land genaamd Welbedacht, groot 822 Morgen en 200 Q.R., geleegen in 't veldcornetschap voorende Lange Kloof in 't District George', N the Kamenatiesberg, S 'DE EIGENAARS PLAATS' (the applicant's own place), E the place Dwarsfontein, W the place Grootfontein; surveyed 16 April 1819 'voor PIET TERBLANS H.z.' by B. Duminy; Geo.Q. 6-17. Sheet 2 shows 'Lenings Plaats Rietfalley' along the lower side, 'omtrend 500 morg Gouv. Land zynde gebrooken veld met geen water voorzien', and two 'spruit in de zoomer droog'. So a Terblans, son of a Hendrik, already lived on a loan place on the Kammanassie in 1819 and took quitrent land beside it. Today the ground south of Welbedacht 131 is Riet Vley No. 129 and Woonplaats No. 135, about 15 km west of Uniondale.
