So the identification of the Bloedrivier participant stops resting on the family's own account (SRC-179) and rests on a checked list that names the man by code and by date. | The neighbouring entries on the page fix its character: Van Staden, Van Straaten, Van Vuuren, Van Zyl, Venter, alphabetical, each with a Pama code, a baptism or birth date, and reference codes of the form R21/38 and R22/38 which are presumably the archive documents the name was checked against.
