TRANSCRIPTION. 1. Name: ANNA MAGDALENA WILHELMINA LUBBE. 2. Birthplace: BIEDOUW. 3. Parents: FRANS JACOBUS LUBBE and HESTER JOHANNA BURGER. 4. Age: 48 YEARS. 5. Condition in life: FARMER'S WIFE. 6. "WIDOW OF THE LATE JACOBUS ADRIAAN VAN DER MERWE, REMARRIED TO HENDRIK GEDEON BASSON." 7. Day of decease: 29 DECEMBER 1860. The sheet is headed AMENDED. SHE MARRIED AGAIN, AND THIS MODEL DID NOT KNOW. Jacobus Adriaan died in July 1855 leaving her with young children; she married HENDRIK GEDEON BASSON and died five years later. The second husband is not entered here as a person. HER PARENTS ARE CONFIRMED from an original document: Frans Jacobus Lubbe and Hester Johanna Burger, exactly as this model holds them, and exactly the pair who stood at her son's font in 1833 (SRC-377). SHE WAS BORN AT BIEDOUW, in the Cederberg west of Clanwilliam, which is new ground and is a long way from the Hantam. AGE 48 AT DECEMBER 1860 gives a birth about 1812; this model holds 1815 from the tree. A stated age is not a birth date, and this one is on an AMENDED form, which means somebody had already got something wrong once. [TO VERIFY]
