WHY THIS IMPORT HAPPENED AND WHAT BOUNDS IT. THE INSTRUCTION, 11 Aug 2026, was to import the siblings and that the key thing is that they carry FamilySearch ids, because the family-tree is old. The family-tree this project was built from is a stale copy of one branch; a FamilySearch id is the handle that lets a row be re-checked against the live tree later, and the old family-tree ids cannot do that. So the rule for this import was: every row carries an FS id or it does not go in. SCOPE: four households, each one a DIRECT ANCESTOR'S OWN household, which is the one-degree rule kin_sweep.py already works to. Nobody here is more than a parent, a spouse or a sibling of somebody the record already held. No cousins, no in-laws, no descendants. WHAT IS AND IS NOT EVIDENCE HERE. This is a compiled tree and it is ranked as one. The nine children of Schalk Willem 1794-1866 are ALSO named on his 1866 death notice (SRC-346), an original document, and those rows are the solid ones. The van Heerden generations rest on the tree alone. No place, no occupation and no event was imported from any of it, because the tree's place strings are systematically wrong. TWO PROBABLE DUPLICATES WERE IMPORTED DELIBERATELY rather than quietly dropped: Jacobus Adriaan LZ8C-1C5 against the direct ancestor 9689-D35 (FIX-0005), and Hendrik Pietersz P3CY-9QC against Hendrik LZD1-FL3, who share both years (FIX-0006). A suspected duplicate that is visible can be settled; one that was never made cannot. AND THE VAN DER MERWE x VAN HEERDEN CROSSING IS OLDER THAN THIS RECORD KNEW. Martha van der Merwe 1713-1784 married Willem van Heerden; their son Schalk Willem married LOUISA van der Merwe 1737-1790; their daughter Elsje Johanna van Heerden married Carel Aaron van der Merwe in 1793. Three crossings in three generations. No kinship between the three van der Merwe women is established here and none should be assumed.
