THE SECOND PRIMARY DOCUMENT NAMING THE SAME PARENTS. With SRC-304, the 1879 notice of his brother Hendrik Jacobus, this makes two independent death notices giving HENDRIK WILLEM STORM and MAGDALENA BOTES as the parents. The Storm family of this district is no longer held together by a compiled tree; it is held together by two death notices. AGE 23 IN SEPTEMBER 1862 gives a birth in 1839, and FamilySearch has Jan Willem Storm as 1839-1862 (L5BC-TRK), the youngest of the seven children. IT REFINES THE MIGRATION. His brother died in the ORANGE FREE STATE in 1879; this man died IN THIS COLONY in 1862. So the family had not all gone by 1862, and the move north falls between these two notices. That narrows a gap this project had been treating as 'after 1855'. THE SIGNATURE IS A THIRD BROTHER: W.J.S. Storm is Willem Johannes Stephanus Storm (1827-1907), fourth of the seven. A brother reporting a brother's death. TWO SMALLER THINGS. 'BY A FORMER MARRIAGE' - at twenty-three he had already been married once and had a son, ROELOFF JACOBUS STORM, a minor in 1862. And the estate is a wagon, ten horses and seventy-five sheep, which is what a young cattle farmer of this district owned. DE KOKER is a new surname here. He married Johanna de Koker and died at the residence of D. de Koker, presumably her father's. [TO VERIFY] the archive reference.
