Villa Pisani on the Brenta at Stra, built in the early 18th century for Alvise Pisani, 114th Doge of Venice (1735-41) - 114 rooms, one for each doge, and a Tiepolo ceiling. Sold to Napoleon in 1807 by the by-then impoverished family, then Habsburg, then Savoy, then the Italian state from 1882. Site of the first Hitler-Mussolini meeting in 1934.
