[11 Aug 2026, SRC-377] SHE STOOD AS A WITNESS at the baptism of her grandson on 7 April 1833, and the child was christened SCHALK WILLEM BURGER. This is the register entry that puts her surname into the van der Merwe line, and it is no longer an inference from the name alone.
