[SRC-093] Grandchild of Jacobus Oosthuysen d'oude; child of the late Marthinus OosthuizenL (PER-000241, d.1799) and orphaned before April 1802, when the estate inventory lists the eight of them and where each had been placed. Age given as 18. Living with his uncle PIETER CORNELIS OOSTHUYSEN (PER-000242), the same household in which the inventory was taken.

DOC-0377 (MOOC8/60.16a and 60.16b, 1814-03-06) lists a household's whole movable estate, which means officials went to where that household lived. It says “the loan place Eilands Valei 'gelegen agter de Platte Kloof onder het district van Zwellendam'” and no more. No parcel is attached, so the family it describes sits nowhere on the map.

What would settle it The inventory's own heading usually names the farm and the field-cornetcy; where it does not, the deceased's quitrent or opgaaf entry for that year will. This is the shape that produced the de Bruin/Rondabel find.
